The Westport Museum for History and Culture

Location Westport, Connecticut

Type Cultural

Size 9,200 sq ft

Scope Adaptive Reuse

Services Historic Preservation, Architecture and Interior Design

The design approach is to renovate and repair the museum’s historic exterior and elevate the museum’s interior to allow for additional programs, greater exhibition space and climate controlled archival storage. Our sensible design interventions to the exteriors are purely restorative, while the interiors were re-imagined, responding to the mission of the museum and aiming to empower research and learning. The renovated space will further the museum’s goals to serve the visitors and locals of the community in a space that inspires creativity, reflection, and connection to history.
