LEED Silver Certification
This expansion project, located on the west side of the Foothills Medical Campus, belongs to the second phase of the master plan for Boulder Community Foothills Hospital. A key outcome of this 45,000 sf expansion to the existing 99,000 sf Anderson medical office building is its compliance with the LEED Silver standard, matching that of the original campus, which was recognized as the country’s first LEED certified healthcare project in 2003. The Anderson Center has been designed to tie in architecturally with the existing campus and maximize its position in the beautiful natural setting opening to Colorado’s spectacular Front Range. A three-sided courtyard mirrors the green surroundings in its featured garden. A portion of the site is deeded to open space, so the Anderson Center has intentionally been limited to one corner of the site to preserve a sense of breadth on the greenfield campus. Meticulous logistical planning allowed for continuation of existing facility operations during the expansion’s construction and finishing.
